Seaweed is the base of the food web in the ocean – marine animals depend on them for food, protection, and more! Seaweed is also used in many products you use every day, such as toothpaste and ice cream. Students will examine seaweed up close, sort a variety of seaweed specimens based on similar characteristics, and then make their own seaweed model.

Labs taught at Project Oceanology take place over 2.5 hours so this program plus one additional lab of your choosing will be taught.

Labs taught at your location will take place during the school day. The timing will depend on the number of classes/sections in your grade level or course. One lab program is taught per visit.
