Find out how squid protect themselves against predators and search for their shell, which is called a pen! Students will examine the inside and outside of a longfin squid, read a story, and create a model of a squid to take home.

Labs taught at Project Oceanology take place over 2.5 hours so this program plus one additional lab of your choosing will be taught.

Labs taught at your location will take place during the school day. The timing will depend on the number of classes/sections in your grade level or course. One lab program is taught per visit.
