January Week 2: Ocean Investigator – Ocean Layers: Davy Jones Locker

Students will investigate ocean layering and density principles by building a model to show top, middle, and bottom ocean layers. Students will hypothesize and test models for these ocean layers, while also exploring the myth of Davy Jones Locker: how matter can be suspended between layers.

Learning Outcome: Students will identify differences in layers through understanding of density and temperature differences in their models.
