Project Oceanology

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Project Oceanology! Volunteers are essential to helping us deliver hands-on marine science education to thousands each year. Your support allows us to inspire curiosity about the ocean through our engaging programs.

Volunteer Opportunities

At Project Oceanology, volunteers can contribute in a variety of ways. Please note that while we may not have immediate openings in every category, we encourage you to apply and indicate your area of interest.

Educational Program Assistant

Support our educators by preparing equipment, classrooms, and labs before programs. If you have experience working with children, you can also assist during lessons, either in the classroom or at the shoreline, helping students engage with our marine science curriculum.

Community Engagement

Help us connect with the community at events across Connecticut. Volunteers assist in coordinating and staffing events, preparing supplies, running booths, and leading interactive activities. If you have skills in marketing or social media, you can also help promote our events and create content for our platforms.

Development Partner

Fundraising is critical to our mission. Volunteers assist with planning, outreach, event management, and donor engagement to help sustain Project Oceanology’s educational programs. If you have experience in fundraising, we’d love your help in building relationships with donors and supporting our events.

Administrative Support

Assist our office team with tasks like data management, inventory tracking, answering phones, and preparing materials. Help keep Project Oceanology running smoothly behind the scenes while contributing to the success of our educational programs.

Facility Maintenance

Help us maintain our 31,000-square-foot facility. Volunteers are needed for tasks like cleaning, painting, and ensuring our spaces are ready for students and programs.
